The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. 4 minutes into the game, Fernan Ur was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Córdoba's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Villa Crespo the free kick. Constantino Lander struck a weak shot in the 5th minute. Ruperto Polentzi didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Villa Crespo. If German Chinto had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 9th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Isidoro Edur took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from German Chinto, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Mauricio Frisco fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 14th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Ruperto Polentzi having to interfere. If Honorato Ermengol had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 17th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 19 minutes into the match, Córdoba's goal looked a bit too open when Honorato Ermengol came free, but Ruperto Polentzi reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. When Fernando Vasco fell near the penalty area in the 28th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Córdoba's protests and gave Fernando Vasco a yellow card for diving instead. After 28 played minutes Córdoba got a freekick which was hit by Fernando Vasco. Saul Mikolas kicked well hit freekick during the 37th minute of the match. 40 minutes had been played when some careless play by Villa Crespo's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Córdoba's Ruperto Polentzi proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 95th minute of the match, managed to save Córdoba from getting a goal against them. Villa Crespo's Isidoro Edur played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by German Chinto in the 96th minute of play. Villa Crespo were disappointed that they only managed a draw, even though they felt themselves to be the better team.
