But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Freddy Etxeberri couldn't finish the play. In the 21st minute, one of ALBA:s players had the ball in front of the goal but got pushed and fell. The referee felt it was an obvious case and blew a penalty for ALBA. In the 23rd minute there was a penalty for Talleres. Arnaldo Mantzio stepped forward and shot the ball to the right of a diving Sixto Dabi. 2-1. ALBA's Sixto Dabi played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Damaso Lalla in the 26th minute of play. When the match had gone on for 30 minutes, Freddy Etxeberri put it in 3-1 from a short distance just to the right of Adolfo Eliazar. In the 32nd minute, Freddy Etxeberri hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Silvio Aresti fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 36th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Adolfo Eliazar having to interfere. Baltasar Lluciano struck a weak shot in the 37th minute. Adolfo Eliazar didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for ALBA. The audience was convinced that Freddy Etxeberri's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Adolfo Eliazar was relentless in the 39th minute of the game. Talleres's Adolfo Eliazar proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 41st minute of the match, managed to save Talleres from getting a goal against them. Af the end of the first half the score was 3-1. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Freddy Etxeberri to make the kick off. After a rather tough play, ALBA's Jesus Geofredo got a free kick in the 73rd minute. 76 minutes into the game, ALBA's Silvio Aresti nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Adolfo Eliazar made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 4-1. In the 85th minute, Baltasar Lluciano got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. After 86 minutes of play, the referee blew the whistle. It was a penalty for Talleres! Adolfo Eliazar didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Silvio Aresti went, in the 92nd minute, to the upper right corner, 7-1 was the resulting score. In the 95th minute, Freddy Etxeberri got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. It was no surprise that this one had ended in a win for the home team. ALBA had played much better football throughout.
