A collision led to Club Atlético River Plate getting a freekick after 12 minutes play. Gerardo Derwin hit a great ball. Christian Estebe received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 14th minute. Fernan Diegotxe tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Mario Salvatore sent away a hard shot on goal in the 17th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Granates's Christian Estebe got a good chance for a goal in the 20th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Ambrosio Gamus took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 22nd minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Fernan Diegotxe. Club Atlético River Plate's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. Higinio Ponce's shot when he came free in front of the goal in the 25thth minute, Remigio Normando skillfully showed off with a save to what seemed to be an obvious goal. Higinio Ponce received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 35th minute. Remigio Normando tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After some careless play in the Granates defense, Mario Salvatore kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Remigio Normando. The Granates fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Remigio Normando should have stopped the shot. In the 48thth minute of the game Mario Salvatore who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Granates's Remigio Normando was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Af the end of the first half the score was 1-0. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.

The wind increased when Candido Richie made the kick off in the second half. Fernan Diegotxe showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Candido Richie, who was totally free with the ball in the 56th minute. In the 57th minute, Christian Estebe made a precise shot to the right of Fernan Diegotxe. Club Atlético River Plate's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 1-1. Fernan Diegotxe was in exellent shape and made a fantastic save when he, in the 67th minute of the match, managed to get hold of the ball after a long shot from Ambrosio Gamus. Christian Estebe struck a weak shot in the 71st minute. Fernan Diegotxe didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Granates. Candido Richie received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Fernan Diegotxe came out and tried to block the shot, but Candido Richie slotted it home off the left post making it 1-2 in the 73rd minute. Christian Estebe recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 77th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Granates's Candido Richie was standing unmarked in front of the goal when he, in the 79th play minute, got the ball and easily drilled it into the goal. Fernan Diegotxe showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Candido Richie in the 83rd minute of the match. Christian Estebe could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 84th minute of the match, but Fernan Diegotxe made a huge save. Teobaldo Niguel charged in rather forcefully in the 86th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Teobaldo Niguel the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. After 86 played minutes Club Atlético River Plate got a freekick which was hit by Teobaldo Niguel. Candido Richie blasted a shot towards the goal in the 90th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Fernan Diegotxe having to make a save. After some fancy dribbling in the 91st minute, Mario Salvatore managed to get in a good position for a shot. Club Atlético River Plate's supporters rose to their feet, but Mario Salvatore was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Remigio Normando breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Granates's supporters were very happy and cheered loudly because their team had won after a very close match.
