Bartolo Laffitte's late challenge caught a Bajada AFC's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Bartolo Laffitte helped the player get up and apologised. Marciano Asur fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 18th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Augusto Senon having to interfere. Augusto Senon took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Marciano Asur, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Gervasio Neron in the 27th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Augusto Senon saved La Piedra from getting behind. When Gervasio Neron came up free with the goalie in the 28th minute, the Bajada AFC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Gervasio Neron couldn't finish the play. If Marciano Asur had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 30th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Augusto Senon came out of the goal in the 32nd minute to try and stop a shot by Bajada AFC's Marciano Asur. But to his dismay, Marciano Asur quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-1. Augusto Senon took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Marciano Asur, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Gervasio Neron sent away a hard shot on goal in the 41st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Marciano Asur received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 42nd minute. Augusto Senon tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Bartolo Laffitte was shown his second yellow card after 44 minutes, following a rather ugly tackle on opponent. That was the end of his participation in the match. The supporters of Bajada AFC booed when La Piedra was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 45 match minutes in a wonderful position. Bartolo Laffitte didn't get a good kick on the ball. Bajada AFC were awarded a corner in the 47th minute after La Piedra's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Edgardo Nabar took the corner. After taking down the ball on Bajada AFC's corner Edgardo Nabar fired away a hard shot, but the defenders efficiently covered the most dangerous angles and Augusto Senon quite easily take care of the ball. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-1 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

The wind increased when Abel Cordero made the kick off in the second half. Abel Cordero fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 53rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Julian Galindo having to interfere. An unexpectedly hard shot by Marciano Asur in the 58th minute of play forced La Piedra's goalkeeper Augusto Senon to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Carlos Osorio hit a great freekick 58 minutes into the match. Marciano Asur sent away a hard shot on goal in the 64th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out.
