The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. In the 2nd match minute, Junín was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Leonides Artizar to maneuver through the defense. In the 5th minute of the match Balcozna got a corner. Junín's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Gervasio Palban ran over to the corner to take the kick. Justino Sandalio made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Denis Beti in the 9th minute of play. Isidro Obano fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 10th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Ernesto Hustaz having to interfere. When Isidro Obano came up free with the goalie in the 12th minute, the Junín fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Isidro Obano couldn't finish the play. The referee blew the whistle for a penalty in the 17th minute of the game. One of Junín:s players had nearly got his shirt torn off by an opponent while getting free in front of Balcozna:s goal. Gervasio Palban shot the penalty kick right outside the post. After having played for 20 minutes, Elias Elazar managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Balcozna's supporters crossed their fingers, but Elias Elazar was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. The audience thought a goal was coming when Zacarias Itzaina got free with Justino Sandalio in the 24th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. The supporters of Balcozna booed when Junín was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 24 match minutes in a wonderful position. Moises Berriotxoa didn't get a good kick on the ball. Justino Sandalio took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Elias Elazar, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 26th minute, Moises Berriotxoa hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Elias Elazar fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 28th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Justino Sandalio having to interfere. A collision led to Junín getting a freekick after 31 minutes play. Severiano Gartzi hit a great ball. Gervasio Palban, 32 minutes into the match, dribbled the ball up the side of the field and decided to take a long shot at the goal. Unfortunately, the ball was poorly hit and landed closer to the corner than to the goal. Jeremias Salomone took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 37th minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Ernesto Hustaz. Balcozna's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. 42 minutes into the match, Balcozna's goal looked a bit too open when Isidro Obano came free, but Ernesto Hustaz reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Candido Txilar sent away a hard shot on goal in the 43rd minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. The first half was very even, with the score at 0-0 when the whistle went for half-time. The players welcomed the break and quickly retired to the dressing rooms.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Candido Txilar was the one to do the kick off. Ernesto Hustaz was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. In the 59th minute Elias Elazar shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Justino Sandalio saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by Candido Txilar in the 61st minute of play forced Balcozna's goalkeeper Ernesto Hustaz to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After a defensive mix-up in Junín's zone, Elias Elazar stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Justino Sandalio came out of the goal and Elias Elazar tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. If Zacarias Itzaina had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 62nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The supporters of Balcozna booed when Junín was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 65 match minutes in a wonderful position. Severiano Platon didn't get a good kick on the ball. Ernesto Hustaz showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Candido Txilar in the 68th minute of the match. A collision led to Balcozna getting a freekick after 69 minutes play. Denis Beti hit a great ball. Isidro Obano could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 72nd minute of the match, but Ernesto Hustaz made a huge save. Denis Beti hit a great freekick 73 minutes into the match. After a rather tough play, Balcozna's Elias Elazar got a free kick in the 79th minute. If Candido Txilar had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 81st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 86 minutes into the match, Balcozna's goal looked a bit too open when Moises Berriotxoa came free, but Ernesto Hustaz reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 96th minute, Zacarias Itzaina got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. The Balcozna supporters were disappointed that their team didn't take anything from the match, despite matching Junín's performance. The match ended with a win for Junín.
