Ulises Ekialde tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. 30 minutes into the match, Atenas's Francisco Austin sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Ulises Ekialde narrowly saved just below the crossbar. After a rather tough play, Piñalitos AFC's Niceto Dantae got a free kick in the 34th minute. If Emilio Vito had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 35th minute. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Francisco Austin couldn't finish the play. After having played for 40 minutes, Emilio Vito managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Atenas's supporters crossed their fingers, but Emilio Vito was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 1-0.

Eustaquio Modestio sent away a hard shot on goal in the 51st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Eustaquio Modestio recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 56th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. In a very dangerous position, a player in Atenas fell when an opponent tried to get the ball from him in the 59th minute. Penalty! In the 61st minute there was a penalty for Piñalitos AFC. Arsenio Veremundo stepped forward and shot the ball to the right of a diving Anacleto Otsoa. 1-1. Emilio Vito sent away a hard shot on goal in the 65th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Anacleto Otsoa took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Nemesio Flor, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 68 minutes into the match, Atenas's goal looked a bit too open when Nemesio Flor came free, but Anacleto Otsoa reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Anacleto Otsoa showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Nemesio Flor, who was totally free with the ball in the 70th minute. In the 71st minute, Francisco Austin got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Ulises Ekialde didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Francisco Austin went, in the 76th minute, to the upper right corner, 2-1 was the resulting score. 82 minutes into the game, Niceto Dantae was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Piñalitos AFC's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Atenas the free kick. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Ulises Ekialde came out of the goal in the 96th minute to try and stop a shot by Atenas's Emilio Vito. But to his dismay, Emilio Vito quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 4-1.
