Gilberto Lope didn't get a good kick on the ball. Progreso's Danilo Fidensio got a good chance for a goal in the 13th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. 15 minutes into the match, Progreso's Daniel Emeterio sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Guillermo Nardo narrowly saved just below the crossbar. A collision led to Progreso getting a freekick after 17 minutes play. Daniel Emeterio hit a great ball. 27 minutes into the match, Danilo Fidensio notched a goal, 1-0, to the right of Gladiadores's Guillermo Nardo. Guillermo Nardo was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. In the 33rd minute Bartolo Dorio shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Gavino Orlondon saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Placido Jakobe received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 39th minute. Gavino Orlondon tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Guillermo Nardo showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 1-0.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Daniel Emeterio stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Guillermo Nardo made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Danilo Fidensio in the 53rd minute of play. After 57 minutes, Teodosio Arnas mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Progreso and the Gladiadores players grew even worse after the yellow card. After a rather tough play, Progreso's Teodosio Arnas got a free kick in the 58th minute. The referee ignored Gladiadores's protests and gave Bartolo Dorio a yellow card for diving instead. In a very dangerous position, a player in Gladiadores fell when an opponent tried to get the ball from him in the 70th minute. Penalty! In the 82nd minute, Godofredo Endira hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. A collision led to Progreso getting a freekick after 93 minutes play. Florencio Cordareo hit a great ball. Placido Jakobe received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Gavino Orlondon came out and tried to block the shot, but Placido Jakobe slotted it home off the left post making it 2-1 in the 94th minute.
