After 3 played minutes Mencué got a freekick which was hit by Lucio Jaunzuria. 8 minutes into the match, Lafontaine FC's goal looked a bit too open when Santo Laurin came free, but Romulo Isadore reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. With his leg Gilberto Sidro managed to avoid a goal in the 9thth minute, when Lafontaine FC's Rigoberto Pero fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. After 11 minutes of play, the referee blew the whistle. It was a penalty for Lafontaine FC! Rigoberto Pero's late challenge caught a Mencué's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Rigoberto Pero helped the player get up and apologised. Rigoberto Pero kicked well hit freekick during the 14th minute of the match. If Santo Laurin had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 15th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 19th match minute, Mencué was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Saverio Enekoitz to maneuver through the defense. Arturo Teofilio recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 22nd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Arturo Teofilio received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 24th minute. Romulo Isadore tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Gilberto Sidro made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Cristian Kinsen in the 30th minute of play. If Cristian Kinsen had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 32nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Gilberto Sidro made a fantastic save in the 35th minute, when Rigoberto Pero sent off a good shot on target. Romulo Isadore stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Arturo Teofilio's shot from short distance in the 36th minute. Romulo Isadore took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Santo Laurin, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After a very even first half the match was still tied. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Santo Laurin stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Natalio Ostargi's late challenge caught a Lafontaine FC's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Natalio Ostargi helped the player get up and apologised. A collision led to Mencué getting a freekick after 55 minutes play. Natalio Ostargi hit a great ball. 55 minutes into the match, Lafontaine FC's Claudio Ixidor broke free and took a long shot that unfortunately flew wide. A fine initiative that could have resulted in a goal. After some fancy dribbling in the 57th minute, Arturo Teofilio managed to get in a good position for a shot. Mencué's supporters rose to their feet, but Arturo Teofilio was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Romulo Isadore breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Santo Laurin received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 60th minute. Romulo Isadore tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Lafontaine FC's Romulo Isadore proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 62nd minute of the match, managed to save Lafontaine FC from getting a goal against them. In a very dangerous position, a player in Lafontaine FC fell when an opponent tried to get the ball from him in the 69th minute. Penalty! Arturo Teofilio fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 76th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Romulo Isadore having to interfere. Lafontaine FC's Romulo Isadore proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 84th minute of the match, managed to save Lafontaine FC from getting a goal against them. In the 91st minute, Arturo Teofilio left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Mencué fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 0-2.
