The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. In the 7th minute, Federico Tulio hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Venancio Leobardo recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 8th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. In the 11th minute, Teobaldo Rolado left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Luganofootball fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 0-1. Elpidio Marquez sent away a hard shot on goal in the 16th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Domingos Iago received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 18th minute. Leo Chico tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. With his leg Leo Chico managed to avoid a goal in the 20thth minute, when Matador Futbol Club's Domingos Iago fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. An unexpectedly hard shot by Venancio Leobardo in the 27th minute of play forced Matador Futbol Club's goalkeeper Domingos Txordon to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 31st minute Teobaldo Rolado shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Domingos Txordon saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Teobaldo Rolado sent away a hard shot on goal in the 32nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. A collision led to Matador Futbol Club getting a freekick after 34 minutes play. Guido Lain hit a great ball. Domingos Iago received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 36th minute. Leo Chico tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The audience thought a goal was coming when Elpidio Marquez got free with Leo Chico in the 38th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. When Venancio Leobardo came up free with the goalie in the 41st minute, the Luganofootball fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Venancio Leobardo couldn't finish the play. Leo Chico made an important save on a dangerous shot by Elpidio Marquez in the 48th minute. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 0-1 lead.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Venancio Leobardo stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Cristo Nesto took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 57th minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Leo Chico. Luganofootball's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. The supporters of Luganofootball booed when Matador Futbol Club was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 59 match minutes in a wonderful position. Cristo Nesto didn't get a good kick on the ball. An unexpected shot in the 66th minute by Teobaldo Rolado got the crowd on their feet, but to their dismay it went out on the left side. In the 70th minute, Domingos Iago had to leave the field with a concussion. When Silvio Rufio fell near the penalty area in the 71st minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Luganofootball's protests and gave Silvio Rufio a yellow card for diving instead. Matador Futbol Club's Domingos Txordon played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Venancio Leobardo in the 78th minute of play. Luganofootball's Teobaldo Rolado was standing unmarked in front of the goal when he, in the 80th play minute, got the ball and easily drilled it into the goal. Matador Futbol Club's Domingos Txordon played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Venancio Leobardo in the 90th minute of play. Domingos Txordon made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Venancio Leobardo in the 92nd minute of play. Florentino Cloyo charged in rather forcefully in the 96th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Florentino Cloyo the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. The referee blew the whistle for a penalty in the 95th minute of the game. One of Luganofootball:s players had nearly got his shirt torn off by an opponent while getting free in front of Matador Futbol Club:s goal. Cristo Nesto walked up to take care of the penalty kick. He was aiming for the top corner, but the ball went just outside the post. Luganofootball's supporters were very happy and cheered loudly because their team had won after a very close match.
