But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Arturo Teofilio couldn't finish the play. In the 44th minute Evelio Fliz shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Gilberto Sidro saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After 47 played minutes all-boys got a freekick which was hit by Gavino Bitxintxo. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Blas Gonzalez was the one to do the kick off. Simon Jon made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Arturo Teofilio in the 54th minute of play. In the 56th minute Mencué were awarded a corner. Bernabe Frasco went to the cornerflag to take it. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. When the match had gone on for 66 minutes, Arturo Teofilio put it in 3-0 from a short distance just to the right of Simon Jon. Evelio Fliz received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 69th minute. Gilberto Sidro tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Mencué's Arturo Teofilio got a good chance for a goal in the 79th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Mencué's Gilberto Sidro proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 81st minute of the match, managed to save Mencué from getting a goal against them. Gilberto Sidro made a fantastic save in the 82nd minute, when Evelio Fliz sent off a good shot on target. In the 89th minute Lucio Jaunzuria shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Simon Jon saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Arturo Teofilio fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 91st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Simon Jon having to interfere. Santo Laurin struck a weak shot in the 93rd minute. Simon Jon didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Mencué. An unexpectedly hard shot by Santo Laurin in the 95th minute of play forced all-boys's goalkeeper Simon Jon to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Simon Jon took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Arturo Teofilio, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side.
