The crowd rose to their feet as Club Sportivo Maipú's Serafino Lobo slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Pascual Ruy. That made the score 1-1 after 16 minutes of play. Luisito Eron received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 19th minute. Fausto Haitz tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Rodrigo Abaunza's late challenge caught a Club Sportivo Maipú's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Club Sportivo Maipú's supporters crossed their fingers, but Serafino Lobo was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Vilgo's Pascual Ruy played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Serafino Lobo in the 24th minute of play. When the match clock showed 34 minutes, the score became 3-1 when Serafino Lobo sped through Vilgo's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Pascual Ruy. Club Sportivo Maipú's Serafino Lobo got a good chance for a goal in the 37th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Pascual Ruy made a fantastic save in the 39th minute, when Geronimo Ofelio sent off a good shot on target. Vilgo's Pascual Ruy played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Geronimo Ofelio in the 40th minute of play. Geronimo Ofelio came free with the goalkeeper in the 42nd minute of the match, and shot straight on target. The shot was a little too simple and Pascual Ruy could save by the left post. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 3-1.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Luisito Eron made a kick off. Geronimo Ofelio fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 51st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Pascual Ruy having to interfere. When Luisito Eron came up free with the goalie in the 55th minute, the Vilgo fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Luisito Eron couldn't finish the play. Serafino Lobo fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 64th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Pascual Ruy having to interfere. Pascual Ruy came out of the goal in the 65th minute to try and stop a shot by Club Sportivo Maipú's Geronimo Ofelio. But to his dismay, Geronimo Ofelio quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 4-1. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Geronimo Ofelio in the 72nd managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Pascual Ruy saved Vilgo from getting behind. Fausto Haitz made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Luisito Eron in the 80th minute of play. After 81 minutes, Silverio Martinez mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Club Sportivo Maipú and the Vilgo players grew even worse after the yellow card. In the 81st match minute, Club Sportivo Maipú was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Silverio Martinez to maneuver through the defense. Fausto Haitz didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Paolo Cresencio went, in the 83rd minute, to the upper right corner, 4-2 was the resulting score.
