The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Freddy Cristos hit a great freekick 3 minutes into the match. Elpidio Daunte was out of position in the 6 minute of play, and Enrique Gagriel capitalized on the mistake with a soft shot into the goal. Enrique Gagriel really showed his touch with that goal: 1-0. Apolo Olo took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Paulino Chuan, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. A collision led to RACING CLUB getting a freekick after 19 minutes play. Vladimiro Herauso hit a great ball. After a rather tough play, RACING CLUB's Delmar Senon got a free kick in the 25th minute. After some fancy dribbling in the 26th minute, Paulino Chuan managed to get in a good position for a shot. Salmoneros's supporters rose to their feet, but Paulino Chuan was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Apolo Olo breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Hipolito Pelayo could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 28th minute of the match, but Elpidio Daunte made a huge save. The audience thought a goal was coming when Hipolito Pelayo got free with Elpidio Daunte in the 29th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. In a very dangerous position, a player in Salmoneros fell when an opponent tried to get the ball from him in the 32nd minute. Penalty! In the 34th minute there was a penalty for RACING CLUB. Godfredo Joseph stepped forward and shot the ball to the right of a diving Elpidio Daunte. 2-0. Salmoneros's Elpidio Daunte played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Enrique Gagriel in the 37th minute of play. The supporters of RACING CLUB booed when Salmoneros was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 38 match minutes in a wonderful position. Freddy Cristos didn't get a good kick on the ball. Enrique Gagriel sent away a hard shot on goal in the 49th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 2-0 at half-time.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Rafael Urti to make the kick off. If Delmar Senon had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 56th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Hipolito Pelayo fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 58th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Elpidio Daunte having to interfere. Hipolito Pelayo recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 61st minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. In the 65th minute the ball was on its way in behind Salmoneros's goalkeeper Elpidio Daunte, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Enrique Gagriel sent away a hard shot on goal in the 67th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. With a little luck, RACING CLUB's Apolo Olo got control of the ball when Paulino Chuan tried to sneak it across the goal line. After some fancy dribbling in the 77th minute, Rafael Urti managed to get in a good position for a shot. Salmoneros's supporters rose to their feet, but Rafael Urti was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Apolo Olo breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. In the 79th minute the ball was on its way in behind Salmoneros's goalkeeper Elpidio Daunte, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. In the 84th minute, Enrique Gagriel left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The RACING CLUB fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 3-0. 92 minutes into the match, Salmoneros's goal looked a bit too open when Enrique Gagriel came free, but Elpidio Daunte reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The crowd rose to their feet as Rafael Urti kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Apolo Olo. That made the score 3-1 in the 97 minute of play. RACING CLUB were really happy, having secured the victory after a very even contest. They thanked the players of Salmoneros for a fine match.
