Maximino Rico breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Patricio Refugio fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 49th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Maximino Rico having to interfere. After the first half the score was level. The break gave the players a chance to catch their breath, whilst the managers went over the tactics with them again.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Patricio Refugio stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Maximino Rico was frozen by the shot and now it was 1-0. 96 minutes into the match, Pablo Celino had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Isaias Urdin. La Lepra Marplatense's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Pablo Celino was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 1-1.
