The referee ignored Cadillal's protests and gave Nestor Godoy a yellow card for diving instead. The supporters of Esther AFC booed when Cadillal was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 17 match minutes in a wonderful position. Nestor Godoy didn't get a good kick on the ball. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Guaberto Eladio couldn't finish the play. In the 31stth minute of the game Guaberto Eladio who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Esther AFC's Maximino Rico was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Cadillal's Jacobo Calisto played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Adan Vargas in the 33rd minute of play. Esther AFC's Adan Vargas got a good chance for a goal in the 34th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Pablo Celino sent away a hard shot on goal in the 38th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After 41 played minutes Esther AFC got a freekick which was hit by Adan Vargas. Maximino Rico took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Esteve Escobar, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After the first half the score was level. The break gave the players a chance to catch their breath, whilst the managers went over the tactics with them again.

Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Guaberto Eladio ran back to his position shaking his head. A collision led to Cadillal getting a freekick after 93 minutes play. Nestor Godoy hit a great ball. With a little luck, Esther AFC's Maximino Rico got control of the ball when Guaberto Eladio tried to sneak it across the goal line. The crowd rose to their feet and cheered when the referee blew the final whistle. Esther AFC had won after a very even match.
