Honorato Obano sent away a hard shot on goal in the 26th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. 39 minutes into the match, Rivas's goal looked a bit too open when Isidoro Eliu came free, but Placido Frances reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. When German Senen came up free with the goalie in the 43rd minute, the Rivas fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that German Senen couldn't finish the play. After 44 played minutes Ranquil got a freekick which was hit by Aurelio Diaz. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling German Senen in the 45th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Sebastian Oxel prevented the ball from getting in the gole. In the 47th minute Isidoro Eliu shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Placido Frances saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Af the end of the first half the score was 3-1. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell German Senen to make the kick off. In the 52nd minute Aurelio Diaz shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Placido Frances saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After a defensive mix-up in Rivas's zone, Maximiliano Orlan stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Placido Frances came out of the goal and Maximiliano Orlan tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Sebastian Oxel took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Honorato Obano, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Aurelio Diaz received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 82nd minute. Placido Frances tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The audience thought a goal was coming when Maximiliano Orlan got free with Placido Frances in the 84th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Placido Frances made an important save on a dangerous shot by Maximiliano Orlan in the 88th minute. In the 91st match minute, Rivas was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Horacio Umea to maneuver through the defense. A hard shot 94 in the game by Maximiliano Orlan from a close distance when the talented Placido Frances managed to make a qualified save. Rivas's players were relieved. Placido Frances was a little too slow when Aurelio Diaz got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 95th minute. The score was now 3-2. Rivas's fans were exulted and cheered after their team won in a match that could easily have gone the other way.
