Pedro Reno was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. In the 34th minute, Ernesto Chucho hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. 36 minutes into the match, Lanús FC's goalkeeper Ivan Van Lint had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Apolo Ticho. Joaquin Txordon sent away a hard shot on goal in the 38th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. The audience was convinced that Dorel Goicea's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Pedro Reno was relentless in the 47th minute of the game. After some fancy dribbling in the 69th minute, Joaquin Txordon managed to get in a good position for a shot. Lanús FC's supporters rose to their feet, but Joaquin Txordon was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Pedro Reno breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick.
