After having played for 17 minutes, Dorel Goicea managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Lanús FC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Dorel Goicea was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. In the 18th minute, Lanús FC's Joaquin Txordon dribbled the ball into the box and hit a shot with the outside of his foot, sending the keeper the wrong way. 2-0. In the 29th minute, Joaquin Txordon got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Lázaro Orlan made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Dorel Goicea in the 30th minute of play. If Joaquin Txordon had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 34th minute. Lázaro Orlan showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Dorel Goicea in the 42nd minute of the match. In the 44th minute Jonas Onofre shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Ivan Van Lint saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Jonas Onofre took the ball and in the 46 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Ivan Van Lint. Ivan Van Lint dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 2-1. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 2-1.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Dorel Goicea to strike the kick off in the second half. Lázaro Orlan showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Dorel Goicea, who was totally free with the ball in the 56th minute. El Fortín de Palermo's Lázaro Orlan played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Joaquin Txordon in the 61st minute of play. Dorel Goicea fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 62nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Lázaro Orlan having to interfere. If Dorel Goicea had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 64th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 69thth minute of the game Dorel Goicea who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but El Fortín de Palermo's Lázaro Orlan was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Lázaro Orlan came out of the goal and Dorel Goicea tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. After having played for 94 minutes, Victor Sandaili managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Lanús FC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Victor Sandaili was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Lanús FC's supporters were delighted with their team's performance and swarmed onto the pitch at the end of the match to celebrate the victory with the players.
