In the 14th minute, Braulio Iratzeder hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Isaac Rubio fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 18th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Braulio Lawrence having to interfere. Braulio Lawrence showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Celedonio Laurendi in the 20th minute of the match. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Isaac Rubio in the 21st managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Braulio Lawrence saved San Lorenzo from getting behind. Ovidio Ederono kicked well hit freekick during the 24th minute of the match. When Celedonio Laurendi came up free with the goalie in the 33rd minute, the Los Pibes F.C. fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Celedonio Laurendi couldn't finish the play. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Paulo Barros during the 35th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. Paulo Barros hit a great freekick 35 minutes into the match. In the 36th minute Celedonio Laurendi shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Braulio Lawrence saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The supporters of San Lorenzo booed when Los Pibes F.C. was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 42 match minutes in a wonderful position. Santo Urbasa didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 48th minute the ball was on its way in behind San Lorenzo's goalkeeper Braulio Lawrence, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 1-0.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Isaac Rubio to make the kick off. Thanks to some nice moves Celedonio Laurendi could shoot a difficult shot in the 53rd minute, which Braulio Lawrence however easily saved by the left post. If Isaac Rubio had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 61st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Isaac Rubio was really disappointed when he shot the ball just outside the right post instead of scoring a goal in the 63rd minute. Los Pibes F.C.'s manager could be seen on the sidelines shaking his head and muttering to himself as his team had just wasted another chance. Braulio Lawrence made an important save on a dangerous shot by Celedonio Laurendi in the 67th minute. Celedonio Laurendi might have been able to make a better finish in the 73rd minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Braulio Lawrence. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Celedonio Laurendi ran back to his position shaking his head. Paulo Barros got his second yellow card in the match during the 83rd minute which meant that he had to leave the ground. The supporters of Los Pibes F.C. booed when San Lorenzo was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 90 match minutes in a wonderful position. Edgardo Chorche didn't get a good kick on the ball. Octavio Gurutz kicked well hit freekick during the 95th minute of the match. Los Pibes F.C.'s supporters were dissatisfied at the end of the match because San Lorenzo had won, even though Los Pibes F.C. had held more of the ball.
