The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. After some careless play in the Pantanillo defense, Clodoveo Nerio kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Aquiles Ireno. The Pantanillo fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Aquiles Ireno should have stopped the shot. An unexpectedly hard shot by Ramiro Aballe in the 16th minute of play forced Pantanillo's goalkeeper Aquiles Ireno to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 21st match minute, Basavilbaso AFC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Clodoveo Nerio to maneuver through the defense. Evaristo Niguel's shot when he came free in front of the goal in the 24thth minute, Pastor Lluciano skillfully showed off with a save to what seemed to be an obvious goal. 31 minutes into the match, Honorio Gaufred notched a goal, 0-2, to the right of Pantanillo's Aquiles Ireno. Aquiles Ireno was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Pastor Lluciano made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Alejo Jatsu in the 37th minute of play. The supporters of Basavilbaso AFC booed when Pantanillo was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 46 match minutes in a wonderful position. Luciano Ponc didn't get a good kick on the ball. 47 minutes into the match, Basavilbaso AFC's Nemesio Bilbo broke free and took a long shot that unfortunately flew wide. A fine initiative that could have resulted in a goal. Disappointed in the 0-2 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

55 minutes into the match, Pantanillo's Evaristo Niguel sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Pastor Lluciano narrowly saved just below the crossbar. If Clodoveo Nerio had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 57th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Pantanillo's Aquiles Ireno played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Clodoveo Nerio in the 60th minute of play. Pastor Lluciano made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Alejo Jatsu in the 63rd minute of play. After 68 played minutes Pantanillo got a freekick which was hit by Francisco Gorka. Robustiano Marques took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 70th minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Aquiles Ireno. Pantanillo's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. If Alejo Jatsu had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 74th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After some fancy dribbling in the 76th minute, Evaristo Niguel managed to get in a good position for a shot. Pantanillo's supporters rose to their feet, but Evaristo Niguel was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Pastor Lluciano breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Pantanillo's Alejo Jatsu got a good chance for a goal in the 77th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. An unexpectedly hard shot by Clodoveo Nerio in the 82nd minute of play forced Pantanillo's goalkeeper Aquiles Ireno to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Alejo Jatsu received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 88th minute. Pastor Lluciano tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Alejo Jatsu charged in rather forcefully in the 93rd minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Alejo Jatsu the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. In the 94th minute, Alejo Jatsu hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 97th minute the ball was on its way in behind Basavilbaso AFC's goalkeeper Pastor Lluciano, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. The Pantanillo fans had already started to leave before the final whistle blew. Basavilbaso AFC were clearly better and deserved to take the win.
