Sportivo Corrientes's Fermin Basualdo proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 20th minute of the match, managed to save Sportivo Corrientes from getting a goal against them. One of Iloga:s players had nearly got his shirt torn off by an opponent while getting free in front of Sportivo Corrientes:s goal. In the 37th minute there was a penalty for Sportivo Corrientes. Arnoldo Matro stepped forward and shot the ball to the right of a diving Sebastian Johans. 1-2. Leandro Peru struck a weak shot in the 40th minute. Sebastian Johans didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Sportivo Corrientes.

Iloga's supporters rose to their feet, but Eustaquio Lluques was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Fermin Basualdo breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. The crowd rose to their feet as Sportivo Corrientes's Pascual Galtero slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Sebastian Johans. That made the score 1-3 after 79 minutes of play. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Pascual Galtero in the 83rd minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Sebastian Johans prevented the ball from getting in the gole. After a defensive mix-up in Sportivo Corrientes's zone, Eustaquio Lluques stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Fermin Basualdo came out of the goal and Eustaquio Lluques tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Jorge Belo fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 94th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Sebastian Johans having to interfere. Sebastian Johans made a fantastic save in the 100th minute, when Jorge Belo sent off a good shot on target. The Sportivo Corrientes players were relieved to hear the final whistle blow to end the match. The away crowd was happy to see their team win after a very tight game.
