Spectators: 7239 (Terracing: 5431, Seating: 1665, VIP seats: 143) The field was rather wet after several days of rain when Justino Sustrai took the kick off in the first half of the match. Edgardo Balasi did some fancy footwork in front of goal and succeeded to deceive the defenders so he could slam the ball in 1-0 to the left of a surprised Mariano Piearres 8 minutes into the match. After some fancy dribbling in the 15th minute, Vinicio Maurino managed to get in a good position for a shot. INDEPENDIENTE's supporters rose to their feet, but Vinicio Maurino was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Leo Emenon breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. When Justino Sustrai came up free with the goalie in the 17th minute, the INDEPENDIENTE fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Justino Sustrai couldn't finish the play. After some fancy dribbling in the 21st minute, Edgardo Balasi managed to get in a good position for a shot. Delamorta's supporters rose to their feet, but Edgardo Balasi was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Mariano Piearres breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. In the 22nd minute, Melquiades Gasteiz hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Leo Emenon made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Vinicio Maurino in the 29th minute of play. Delamorta's Leo Emenon played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Justino Sustrai in the 35th minute of play. Feliberto Hernandez received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 37th minute. Mariano Piearres tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. If Justino Sustrai had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 43rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 1-0.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Edgardo Balasi was the one to do the kick off. Edgardo Balasi recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 51st minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Mariano Piearres took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Edgardo Balasi, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Mariano Piearres stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Edgardo Balasi's shot from short distance in the 54th minute. The crowd rose to their feet as Vinicio Maurino kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Leo Emenon. That made the score 1-1 in the 64 minute of play. 69 minutes into the match, INDEPENDIENTE's goal looked a bit too open when Edgardo Balasi came free, but Mariano Piearres reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. If Edgardo Balasi had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 70th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 74th minute Edgardo Balasi shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Mariano Piearres saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Cipriano Fero during the 76th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. The supporters of Delamorta booed when INDEPENDIENTE was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 76 match minutes in a wonderful position. Cipriano Fero didn't get a good kick on the ball. INDEPENDIENTE's Cipriano Fero got his second yellow card of the match in the 77th minute. The referee ordered Cipriano Fero off the ground. In the 78th minute, Cipriano Fero hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 80th minute, Edgardo Balasi got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. After a defensive mix-up in INDEPENDIENTE's zone, Edgardo Balasi stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Mariano Piearres came out of the goal and Edgardo Balasi tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Neither set of supporters seemed pleased with the draw, but both teams had played equally well today.
