With a little luck, CFTC's Atilano Mateo got control of the ball when Herminio Macerio tried to sneak it across the goal line. After 10 played minutes Estudiantes de La Plata got a freekick which was hit by Florencio Santirso. In the 12th match minute, CFTC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Herminio Vidal to maneuver through the defense. Atilano Mateo stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Herminio Macerio's shot from short distance in the 15th minute. When Florencio Santirso fell near the penalty area in the 16th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Estudiantes de La Plata's protests and gave Florencio Santirso a yellow card for diving instead. After a defensive mix-up in Estudiantes de La Plata's zone, Hernan Mattin stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Zelipe Iriart came out of the goal and Hernan Mattin tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Kaká Maia in the 21st minute of play forced CFTC's goalkeeper Atilano Mateo to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 23rd minute, Oséas Vaz got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. In the 27th minute, Herminio Macerio ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Atilano Mateo was frozen by the shot and now it was 1-0. In the 30th minute, Dionisio Lizardi got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Atilano Mateo showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Dionisio Lizardi, who was totally free with the ball in the 33rd minute. 36 minutes into the match, Herminio Macerio notched a goal, 2-0, to the right of CFTC's Atilano Mateo. Atilano Mateo was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. In the 45th minute, Herminio Macerio left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Estudiantes de La Plata fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 3-0. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 3-0 at half-time.

Atilano Mateo took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Kaká Maia, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After 58 minutes of play, Estudiantes de La Plata's Dionisio Lizardi made it 4-0 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Atilano Mateo was left in no man's land by his defense there! In the 62nd minute Dionisio Lizardi shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Atilano Mateo saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 66th minute, Hernan Mattin got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Atilano Mateo made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Herminio Macerio in the 69th minute of play. If Oséas Vaz had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 70th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 74th minute, Honorato Vasco made a precise shot to the right of Atilano Mateo. CFTC's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 5-0. Atilano Mateo didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Dionisio Lizardi went, in the 77th minute, to the upper right corner, 6-0 was the resulting score. Atilano Mateo made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Honorato Vasco in the 82nd minute of play. Atilano Mateo showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Dionisio Lizardi, who was totally free with the ball in the 84th minute. In the 88th minute Oséas Vaz shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Atilano Mateo saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 89 minutes into the match, Kaká Maia had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Atilano Mateo. CFTC's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Kaká Maia was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 7-0. There were very few away supporters still in the ground by the end of the match. Most of them had left early, disgusted by the way their team had been torn apart. Estudiantes de La Plata fully deserved thier win.
