Zelipe Iriart dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 3-1. Af the end of the first half the score was 4-1. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Dionisio Lizardi to make the kick off. Herminio Macerio sent away a hard shot on goal in the 51st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Herminio Macerio in the 54th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Joaquin Martinez saved Atalaya from getting behind. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Dionisio Lizardi in the 61st minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Joaquin Martinez prevented the ball from getting in the gole. In the 66th minute, Dionisio Lizardi made a precise shot to the right of Joaquin Martinez. Atalaya's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 6-1. Alberto Jesco received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 74th minute. Zelipe Iriart tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After 76 minutes of play, Estudiantes de La Plata's Dionisio Lizardi made it 7-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Joaquin Martinez was left in no man's land by his defense there! Estudiantes de La Plata's players enjoyed the ovations of the crowd after the victory.
