The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Fulgencio Mazuste received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 5th minute. Inocencio Giro tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Leonel Pagomari might have been able to make a better finish in the 8th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Inocencio Giro. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Leonel Pagomari ran back to his position shaking his head. Amador Jax took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Marcelo Orlo, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Euscadi's Marcelo Orlo got a good chance for a goal in the 19th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. An unexpectedly hard shot by Marcelo Orlo in the 23rd minute of play forced Atletico de Rafaela's goalkeeper Amador Jax to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Amador Jax showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Silvio Santio in the 24th minute of the match. Arsenio Gaizkine was astounded when the referee showed him the red card after a seemingly innocent challenge, 29 minutes into the match. 28 minutes into the game, one of Euscadi:s players got tackled near the goal, and the referee blew for a penalty. Euscadi's Jonathan Rafe got a good chance for a goal in the 35th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Marcelo Orlo blasted a shot towards the goal in the 40th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Amador Jax having to make a save. In the 48th minute, Leonel Pagomari fired away a killer shot towards the goal that, to the delight of Inocencio Giro, passed just outside the right post. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 1-0 at half-time.

The wind increased when Marcelo Orlo made the kick off in the second half. In the 52nd match minute, Euscadi was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Benicio Feliu to maneuver through the defense. The supporters of Euscadi booed when Atletico de Rafaela was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 54 match minutes in a wonderful position. Bonifacio Vergaray didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 56th minute, Candido Millrick got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Marcelo Orlo sent away a hard shot on goal in the 58th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. If Leonel Pagomari had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 65th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 70th minute, Leonel Pagomari got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Leonel Pagomari recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 76th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. An unexpectedly hard shot by Fulgencio Mazuste in the 78th minute of play forced Euscadi's goalkeeper Inocencio Giro to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 82 minutes into the match, Bonifacio Vergaray had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Inocencio Giro. Euscadi's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Bonifacio Vergaray was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 2-0. The audience thought a goal was coming when Marcelo Orlo got free with Amador Jax in the 87th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. After a rather tough play, Euscadi's Jonathan Rafe got a free kick in the 92nd minute. Inocencio Giro made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Leonel Pagomari in the 95th minute of play. Fulgencio Mazuste sent away a hard shot on goal in the 96th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Atletico de Rafaela's supporters were highly satisfied with the result. They cheered their team of the pitch, having watched them win a very even match.
