Alejo Felo showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Armando Emeterio in the 6th minute of the match. Los Estrellares FC's Generoso Louis got a good chance for a goal in the 8th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Alejo Felo didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Generoso Louis went, in the 10th minute, to the upper right corner, 0-2 was the resulting score. Armando Emeterio received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 13th minute. Alejo Felo tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Generoso Louis recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 14th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. If Eustacio Horado had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 19th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Ramiro Fidensio blasted a shot towards the goal in the 21st minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Donato Quintana having to make a save. In the 24th minute Generoso Louis shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Alejo Felo saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 25 minutes into the match, Los Estrellares FC's goalkeeper Donato Quintana had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Eustacio Horado. 27 minutes into the game, Los Estrellares FC's Armando Emeterio nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Alejo Felo made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-3. The audience was convinced that Armando Emeterio's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Alejo Felo was relentless in the 33rd minute of the game. Generoso Louis sent away a hard shot on goal in the 34th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Eustacio Horado's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Donato Quintana read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 44th minute of play. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-3 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

Delmiro Jesco hit a great freekick 54 minutes into the match. Ramiro Fidensio scored 1-3 in the 56th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Donato Quintana, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Donato Quintana took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Eustacio Horado, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 66 minutes into the match, Candelaria's goal looked a bit too open when Generoso Louis came free, but Alejo Felo reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Delmiro Jesco's late challenge caught a Candelaria's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Delmiro Jesco helped the player get up and apologised. After a rather tough play, Los Estrellares FC's Delmiro Jesco got a free kick in the 68th minute. When Eustacio Horado came up free with the goalie in the 69th minute, the Candelaria fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Eustacio Horado couldn't finish the play. After some fancy dribbling in the 72nd minute, Generoso Louis managed to get in a good position for a shot. Los Estrellares FC's supporters rose to their feet, but Generoso Louis was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Alejo Felo breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Ramiro Fidensio recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 86th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. After 89 minutes, Zeledon Llorienzo mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Los Estrellares FC and the Candelaria players grew even worse after the yellow card. In the 90th minute, Zeledon Llorienzo hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 96th minute, Eustacio Horado got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. The away crowd were delighted with the way their team had played and cheered loudly when the final whistle sounded. Los Estrellares FC walked away with the win, even though the match was close until the end.
