The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Alejo Felo made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Omar Bernard in the 5th minute of play. The supporters of Candelaria booed when Lomas Fútbol Club was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 12 match minutes in a wonderful position. Alfonso Delfino didn't get a good kick on the ball. After having played for 13 minutes, Ramiro Fidensio managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Candelaria's supporters crossed their fingers, but Ramiro Fidensio was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Eustacio Horado sent away a hard shot on goal in the 18th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After a defensive mix-up in Lomas Fútbol Club's zone, Ramiro Fidensio stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Dionisio Jaen came out of the goal and Ramiro Fidensio tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. 25 minutes into the match, Candelaria's goal looked a bit too open when Emilio Rocendo came free, but Alejo Felo reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Nicanor Oliverios during the 26th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. The supporters of Lomas Fútbol Club booed when Candelaria was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 26 match minutes in a wonderful position. Nicanor Oliverios didn't get a good kick on the ball. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Emilio Rocendo in the 28th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Alejo Felo saved Candelaria from getting behind. With a little luck, Lomas Fútbol Club's Dionisio Jaen got control of the ball when Eustacio Horado tried to sneak it across the goal line. Candelaria's Alejo Felo played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Omar Bernard in the 32nd minute of play. Ramiro Fidensio sent away a hard shot on goal in the 36th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 38th minute, Candelaria's Ramiro Fidensio dribbled the ball into the box and hit a shot with the outside of his foot, sending the keeper the wrong way. 1-0. After some fancy dribbling in the 44th minute, Ramiro Fidensio managed to get in a good position for a shot. Candelaria's supporters rose to their feet, but Ramiro Fidensio was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Dionisio Jaen breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. If Emilio Rocendo had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 47th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Af the end of the first half the score was 1-0. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Omar Bernard was the one to do the kick off. An unexpectedly hard shot by Omar Bernard in the 51st minute of play forced Candelaria's goalkeeper Alejo Felo to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 66th minute Omar Bernard shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Alejo Felo saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. If Ramiro Fidensio had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 72nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. If Eustacio Horado had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 73rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Emilio Rocendo in the 82ndth minute had a little luck and got a chance for a shot in front of the goal. Without hesitation aimed to the right of Alejo Felo, who managed to lunge to the right direction and made a save. Emilio Rocendo fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 86th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Alejo Felo having to interfere.
