If Hugo Ibarra had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 9th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. In the 10th match minute, Calvo FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Osvaldo Truylos to maneuver through the defense. 11 minutes into the game, Carlos Nataniel recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Zeledon Abaurre. Carlos Nataniel showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 1-0. Carlos Nataniel received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 14th minute. Zeledon Abaurre tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Carlos Nataniel's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Zeledon Abaurre read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 16th minute of play. A collision led to Calvo FC getting a freekick after 19 minutes play. Fausto Quinteros hit a great ball. Hugo Ibarra was really disappointed when he shot the ball just outside the right post instead of scoring a goal in the 22nd minute. BETCO's manager could be seen on the sidelines shaking his head and muttering to himself as his team had just wasted another chance. Zeledon Abaurre made a fantastic save in the 26th minute, when Carlos Nataniel sent off a good shot on target. 29 minutes into the match, Calvo FC's goal looked a bit too open when Hugo Ibarra came free, but Zeledon Abaurre reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Hugo Ibarra sent away a hard shot on goal in the 33rd minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Anastasio Rafe charged in rather forcefully in the 34th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Anastasio Rafe the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Anastasio Rafe hit a great freekick 34 minutes into the match. Carlos Nataniel recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 35th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Hugo Ibarra received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 36th minute. Zeledon Abaurre tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 41st minute Carlos Nataniel shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Zeledon Abaurre saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After a rather tough play, Calvo FC's Anastasio Rafe got a free kick in the 42nd minute. 43 minutes into the match, Carlos Nataniel dribbled the ball past the defender and swiftly kicked the ball to the left of Zeledon Abaurre, 2-0. In the 46th minute, Manuel Elorri hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. If Victor Abreu had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 47th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 2-0 at half-time.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Hugo Ibarra was the one to do the kick off. The audience was convinced that Hugo Ibarra's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Zeledon Abaurre was relentless in the 51st minute of the game. Hugo Ibarra received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 58th minute. Zeledon Abaurre tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Amadeo Maule charged in rather forcefully in the 60th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. Ahmet Arif Afacan made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Leopoldo Montes in the 62nd minute of play. 65 minutes into the game, BETCO's Carlos Nataniel nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Zeledon Abaurre made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 3-0. After 71 minutes of play, BETCO's Carlos Nataniel made it 4-0 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Zeledon Abaurre was left in no man's land by his defense there! In the 74th minute, Domingos Flores hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Calvo FC's Zeledon Abaurre played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Carlos Nataniel in the 77th minute of play. Hugo Ibarra struck a weak shot in the 78th minute. Zeledon Abaurre didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for BETCO. 82 minutes into the game, BETCO's Hugo Ibarra nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Zeledon Abaurre made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 5-0. After 85 played minutes Calvo FC got a freekick which was hit by Bernardo Ignazio. Hugo Ibarra fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 89th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Zeledon Abaurre having to interfere. After some fancy dribbling in the 91st minute, Carlos Nataniel managed to get in a good position for a shot. BETCO's supporters rose to their feet, but Carlos Nataniel was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Zeledon Abaurre breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Hugo Ibarra struck a weak shot in the 93rd minute. Zeledon Abaurre didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for BETCO. Hugo Ibarra sent away a hard shot on goal in the 97th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. BETCO's supporters were delighted with their team's performance and swarmed onto the pitch at the end of the match to celebrate the victory with the players.
