Spectators: 7181 (Terracing: 5375, Seating: 1664, VIP seats: 142) Mazaredo's Fabricio Baumar started the match with a crisp pass. The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Cristo Lluques in the 2nd managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Marcial Urtun saved Mazaredo from getting behind. In the 4th minute, Raul Nazario got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. If Rosendo Presebal had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 6th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Marcial Urtun came out of the goal in the 9th minute to try and stop a shot by Margarita's Cristo Lluques. But to his dismay, Cristo Lluques quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-0. In the 11th minute, Raul Nazario got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Cristo Lluques was extremely unlucky when he, in the 13th minute, took a shot that hit the right post and went out. Raul Nazario sent away a hard shot on goal in the 16th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Fabricio Baumar took the ball and in the 23 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Elvio Misael. Elvio Misael dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 1-1. After some careless play in the Margarita defense, Rosendo Presebal kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Elvio Misael. The Margarita fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Elvio Misael should have stopped the shot. Margarita's Elvio Misael played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Fabricio Baumar in the 31st minute of play. After a defensive mix-up in Margarita's zone, Fabricio Baumar stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Elvio Misael came out of the goal and Fabricio Baumar tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. If Raul Nazario had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 40th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The wind increased when Cristo Lluques made the kick off in the second half. After a defensive mix-up in Mazaredo's zone, Cristo Lluques stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Marcial Urtun came out of the goal and Cristo Lluques tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Marcial Urtun took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Raul Nazario, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Rene Chale's late challenge caught a Mazaredo's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Rene Chale helped the player get up and apologised. After a rather tough play, Margarita's Rene Chale got a free kick in the 56th minute. If Cristo Lluques had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 60th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Marcial Urtun showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Raul Nazario in the 63rd minute of the match. After having played for 64 minutes, Cristo Lluques managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Margarita's supporters crossed their fingers, but Cristo Lluques was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. If Raul Nazario had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 66th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. When Cristo Lluques fell near the penalty area in the 68th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Margarita's protests and gave Cristo Lluques a yellow card for diving instead. After 68 played minutes Margarita got a freekick which was hit by Cristo Lluques. Fabricio Baumar received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 70th minute. Elvio Misael tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Elvio Misael made a fantastic save in the 72nd minute, when Rosendo Presebal sent off a good shot on target. Elvio Misael took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Fabricio Baumar, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. The Mazaredo supporters could be heard counting down the last seconds of the match. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing Mazaredo would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
