Benicio Poz in the 22ndth minute had a little luck and got a chance for a shot in front of the goal. Without hesitation aimed to the right of Leo Gelacio, who managed to lunge to the right direction and made a save. Benicio Poz received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 23rd minute. Leo Messi was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Dante Estevez to maneuver through the defense. 31 minutes into the match, C.A. Leo Messi's goalkeeper Leo Gelacio had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Benicio Poz. Leo Gelacio acted impressively in front of the goal and made a superb save when he, in the 39th minute, took the ball on the long shot from Damaso Jerrald. Modesto Ganix sent away a hard shot on goal in the 40th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After some fancy dribbling in the 45th minute, Enzo Ubarna managed to get in a good position for a shot. Club Atlético Colon's supporters rose to their feet, but Enzo Ubarna was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Leo Gelacio breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Modesto Ganix was the one to do the kick off. An unexpectedly hard shot by Dante Estevez in the 51st minute of play forced Club Atlético Colon's goalkeeper Gavino Grabiel to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 53rd minute of the match C.A. Leo Messi got a corner. Club Atlético Colon's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Haroldo Dantae ran over to the corner to take the kick. The corner ended in Haroldo Dantae almost managing to get the ball behind the net, but Club Atlético Colon's Gavino Grabiel did a great save. When Braulio Abeitia fell near the penalty area in the 55th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored C.A. Leo Messi's protests and gave Braulio Abeitia a yellow card for diving instead. After 56 played minutes C.A. Leo Messi got a freekick which was hit by Braulio Abeitia. Leo Gelacio showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Modesto Ganix in the 57th minute of the match. 61 minutes into the game, Tomás Fresco cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 1-0. Leo Gelacio was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Gavino Grabiel took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Silvestre Sergi, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Arsenio Odol fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 69th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Gavino Grabiel having to interfere. C.A. Leo Messi's Leo Gelacio played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Modesto Ganix in the 71st minute of play. Arsenio Odol recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 75th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. If Modesto Ganix had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 82nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 85 minutes into the match, C.A. Leo Messi's goal looked a bit too open when Alberto Frances came free, but Leo Gelacio reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Leo Gelacio made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Modesto Ganix in the 87th minute of play. Benicio Poz struck a weak shot in the 88th minute. Leo Gelacio didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Club Atlético Colon. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Modesto Ganix in the 89th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Leo Gelacio prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Leo Gelacio stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Modesto Ganix's shot from short distance in the 92nd minute. Silvestre Sergi might have been able to make a better finish in the 93rd minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Gavino Grabiel. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Silvestre Sergi ran back to his position shaking his head. A collision led to C.A. Leo Messi getting a freekick after 95 minutes play. Adrian Ugaitz hit a great ball. In the 96th minute, Aldo Austin sent off a long shot on goal, but the shot was nowhere near the goal and C.A. Leo Messi's Leo Gelacio didn't even have to move. There was no doubt that Club Atlético Colon were the better team. Club Atlético Colon's players enjoyed the ovations of the crowd after the victory.
