But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Baltasar Tulio couldn't finish the play. After a defensive mix-up in Calamardo's zone, Camilo Lizbeth stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Ramiro Matei came out of the goal and Camilo Lizbeth tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Fabio Astigar made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Baltasar Tulio in the 12th minute of play. In the 12th minute, Celso Suarez hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. The audience was convinced that Cipriano Galo's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Fabio Astigar was relentless in the 15th minute of the game. After 42 minutes, Victor Mirande mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Calamardo and the Catalina y Ernesto F.C players grew even worse after the yellow card. After 42 played minutes Calamardo got a freekick which was hit by Victor Mirande. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Julian Lopez during the 44th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. In the 44th match minute, Calamardo was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Julian Lopez to maneuver through the defense. The score stood at 0-0 when the half time whistle went. Both sets of players seemed reasonably pleased with how the match was going.

The wind increased when Camilo Lizbeth made the kick off in the second half. Fabio Astigar made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Candido Hug in the 51st minute of play. Baltasar Tulio recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 52nd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. With a little luck, Catalina y Ernesto F.C's Fabio Astigar got control of the ball when Baltasar Tulio tried to sneak it across the goal line. 59 minutes into the match, Calamardo's Cipriano Galo sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Fabio Astigar narrowly saved just below the crossbar. In the 60th match minute, Catalina y Ernesto F.C was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Enrique Arixo to maneuver through the defense. Fabio Astigar took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Cipriano Galo, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Calamardo's Cipriano Galo got a good chance for a goal in the 66th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Filomeno Sandaili sent away a hard shot on goal in the 69th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Ricardo Lizardi kicked well hit freekick during the 72nd minute of the match. Cleto Dino hit a great freekick 74 minutes into the match. Nicanor Ixona was probably a little too eager to shoot when he, in the 75th played minute, shot the ball from way out. The shot was hard, but the ball flew wide of the goal. If Cipriano Galo had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 78th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After some careless play in the Calamardo defense, Filomeno Sandaili kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Ramiro Matei. The Calamardo fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Ramiro Matei should have stopped the shot. After having played for 85 minutes, Camilo Lizbeth managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Catalina y Ernesto F.C's supporters crossed their fingers, but Camilo Lizbeth was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. If Cipriano Galo had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 87th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The crowd rose to their feet and cheered when the referee blew the final whistle. Catalina y Ernesto F.C had won after a very even match.
