The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Justo Rodas made an important save on a dangerous shot by Leopoldo Txanton in the 3rd minute. Raimundo Norino sent away a hard shot on goal in the 5th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After some fancy dribbling in the 12th minute, Raimundo Norino managed to get in a good position for a shot. Sanabria's supporters rose to their feet, but Raimundo Norino was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Guillermo Jerrold breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. In the 14th minute, Baldomero Inautzi hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. An unexpectedly hard shot by Raimundo Norino in the 15th minute of play forced FireStorm's goalkeeper Guillermo Jerrold to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. FireStorm's Guillermo Jerrold played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Raimundo Norino in the 16th minute of play. Carlos Phelipe might have been able to make a better finish in the 17th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Guillermo Jerrold. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Carlos Phelipe ran back to his position shaking his head. In the 17th minute Carlos Phelipe shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Guillermo Jerrold saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 18th minute, Jeremias Orzaize hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Carlos Phelipe sent away a hard shot on goal in the 21st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. When Melchor Caitano fell near the penalty area in the 22nd minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Sanabria's protests and gave Melchor Caitano a yellow card for diving instead. After having played for 24 minutes, Adrian Rey managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. FireStorm's supporters crossed their fingers, but Adrian Rey was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Sanabria's Carlos Phelipe got a good chance for a goal in the 28th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. After a defensive mix-up in FireStorm's zone, Carlos Phelipe stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Guillermo Jerrold came out of the goal and Carlos Phelipe tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Baldomero Inautzi hit a great freekick 41 minutes into the match. Gavino Soin, 42 minutes into the match, dribbled the ball up the side of the field and decided to take a long shot at the goal. Unfortunately, the ball was poorly hit and landed closer to the corner than to the goal. In the 45th minute Raimundo Norino shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Guillermo Jerrold saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Dario Fonso's late challenge caught a FireStorm's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Dario Fonso helped the player get up and apologised.

The wind increased when Raimundo Norino made the kick off in the second half. In the 59th minute, Albano Tomi sent off a long shot on goal, but the shot was nowhere near the goal and Sanabria's Justo Rodas didn't even have to move. If Leopoldo Txanton had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 63rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The supporters of Sanabria booed when FireStorm was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 66 match minutes in a wonderful position. Baldomero Inautzi didn't get a good kick on the ball. Guillermo Jerrold made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Raimundo Norino in the 69th minute of play. Carlos Phelipe sent away a hard shot on goal in the 71st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Albano Tomi's late challenge caught a Sanabria's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Albano Tomi helped the player get up and apologised. Guillermo Jerrold went to the wrong direction when Gavino Soin was taking care of the penalty kick which however missed the goal. When Felix Haritzeder fell near the penalty area in the 79th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Sanabria's protests and gave Felix Haritzeder a yellow card for diving instead. A collision led to Sanabria getting a freekick after 79 minutes play. Felix Haritzeder hit a great ball. Adrian Rey sent away a hard shot on goal in the 81st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. The audience thought a goal was coming when Carlos Phelipe got free with Guillermo Jerrold in the 86th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Justo Rodas took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Adrian Rey, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Raimundo Norino sent away a hard shot on goal in the 90th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Carlos Phelipe blasted a shot towards the goal in the 92nd minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Guillermo Jerrold having to make a save. Guillermo Jerrold made an important save on a dangerous shot by Carlos Phelipe in the 98th minute. FireStorm succeeded in salvaging a draw, even though Sanabria had controlled the match.
