Narciso Abaunza showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Enzo Artaldo, who was totally free with the ball in the 8th minute. Claudio Peli showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Jaime Iago in the 10th minute of the match. In the 13th minute the ball was on its way in behind Real Boca's goalkeeper Narciso Abaunza, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. After having played for 17 minutes, Fermin Urtsua managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Racing Club's supporters crossed their fingers, but Fermin Urtsua was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. 20 minutes in the game, Jaime Iago fired away an excellent shot, which passed to the side of the right post without Claudio Peli having to interfere. Octavio Gorri kicked well hit freekick during the 22nd minute of the match. A collision led to Real Boca getting a freekick after 28 minutes play. Jacinto Jeraldo hit a great ball. Filiberto Senin tried to clear up in front of the goal, but didn't succeed and rather the ball rolled into the own goal to the right of a despaired Narciso Abaunza. An unnecessary self made goal, 1-1 in the 29th minute. Enzo Artaldo struck a weak shot in the 32nd minute. Narciso Abaunza didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Racing Club. Jaime Iago did some fancy footwork in front of goal and succeeded to deceive the defenders so he could slam the ball in 2-1 to the left of a surprised Claudio Peli 37 minutes into the match. Benjamin Gartxot recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 40th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Claudio Peli was a little too slow when Jaime Iago got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 42nd minute. The score was now 3-1. Racing Club's Claudio Peli played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Jaime Iago in the 46th minute of play. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 3-1.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Enzo Artaldo to make the kick off. If Albino Gorka had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 53rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Filiberto Senin took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 62nd minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Claudio Peli. Racing Club's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. Jacinto Jeraldo fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 65th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Claudio Peli having to interfere. In the 67th minute of the match Higinio Oxel sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Claudio Peli skillfully saved the ball. After a rather tough play, Real Boca's Silvestre Ekain got a free kick in the 72nd minute. When the match had gone on for 74 minutes, Fermin Urtsua took a quick shot and it went in 4-2 without a chance for Narciso Abaunza to make any attempt to save it. In the 79th minute the ball was on its way in behind Real Boca's goalkeeper Narciso Abaunza, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. In the 80th minute, Benjamin Gartxot hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Claudio Peli stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Jaime Iago's shot from short distance in the 86th minute.
