A collision led to Independiente getting a freekick after 25 minutes play. Gerardo Virila hit a great ball. Bruno Tirso received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Silverio Matteo came out and tried to block the shot, but Bruno Tirso slotted it home off the left post making it 1-0 in the 25th minute. Timoteo Gaitan's shot when he came free in front of the goal in the 29thth minute, Silverio Matteo skillfully showed off with a save to what seemed to be an obvious goal. The referee blew the whistle for a penalty in the 30th minute of the game. One of TheMarcians F.C:s players had nearly got his shirt torn off by an opponent while getting free in front of Independiente:s goal. In the 33rd minute there was a penalty for Independiente. Eduardo Salvino stepped forward and shot the ball to the right of a diving Blas Cordareo. 1-1. After having played for 37 minutes, Timoteo Gaitan managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. TheMarcians F.C's supporters crossed their fingers, but Timoteo Gaitan was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Timoteo Gaitan received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 40th minute. Silverio Matteo tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. 41 minutes into the match, Independiente's goal looked a bit too open when Hilario Ladio came free, but Silverio Matteo reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. 49 minutes into the match, Gilberto Vincente notched a goal, 1-2, to the right of TheMarcians F.C's Blas Cordareo. After some fancy dribbling in the 88th minute, Timoteo Gaitan managed to get in a good position for a shot. TheMarcians F.C's supporters rose to their feet, but Timoteo Gaitan was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Silverio Matteo breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Independiente's Silverio Matteo played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Hilario Ladio in the 89th minute of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Luis Amor in the 99th minute of play forced Independiente's goalkeeper Silverio Matteo to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Although TheMarcians F.C had been in control for most of the match, Independiente still came away with the win.
