With a couple of smart ball manuevers Amadeo Oxel in the 22nd managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Hermengildo Tohias saved Gil AFC from getting behind. 24 minutes into the game, Rolando Guzman was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. In the 28th minute, Saturnino Sansone left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Gil AFC fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 1-0. Natalio Rios took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 35th minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Hermengildo Tohias. Gil AFC's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. After having played for 36 minutes, Amadeo Oxel managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Nonogasta's supporters crossed their fingers, but Amadeo Oxel was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Natalio Rios lost his temper 43 minutes into the game and shoved another player to the ground. He was immediately shown a red card. Julian Jurgi had in the 45thth minute some difficulties stopping Silvano Quin's well aimed penalty as it nearly passed him on his left side, but he still managed to hold the ball. Amadeo Oxel fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 47th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Hermengildo Tohias having to interfere. After the first half the score was level. The break gave the players a chance to catch their breath, whilst the managers went over the tactics with them again.

If Ivan Lluis had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 97th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead.
