Gavino Ubelteso's late challenge caught a González's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Gavino Ubelteso helped the player get up and apologised. The supporters of González booed when Los Leales was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 4 match minutes in a wonderful position. Gavino Ubelteso didn't get a good kick on the ball. A collision led to Los Leales getting a freekick after 6 minutes play. Abel Erasto hit a great ball. Eugenio Bieito sent away a hard shot on goal in the 10th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Prudencio Veronica kicked well hit freekick during the 12th minute of the match. The audience thought a goal was coming when Prudencio Veronica got free with Claudio Maidana in the 14th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. In the 18th minute, Eugenio Bieito ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Filomeno Ospin was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-1. After having played for 22 minutes, Eugenio Bieito managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. González's supporters crossed their fingers, but Eugenio Bieito was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Prudencio Veronica could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 25th minute of the match, but Claudio Maidana made a huge save. In the 26th minute, Robustiano Modestio made a precise shot to the right of Filomeno Ospin. Los Leales's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 0-2. Prudencio Veronica who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 30thth minute tested the skills of Claudio Maidana when he managed to save the team from getting behind. When Celso Gonzalez came up free with the goalie in the 32nd minute, the Los Leales fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Celso Gonzalez couldn't finish the play. When Los Leales's Celso Gonzalez in the 34th minute got a chance for a shot 34th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye González's goalie prevented a goal. Amador Oro hit a great freekick 36 minutes into the match. Celso Gonzalez fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 40th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Claudio Maidana having to interfere. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-2 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Celso Gonzalez to strike the kick off in the second half. 54 minutes into the game, Celso Gonzalez cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 1-2. Claudio Maidana was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Filomeno Ospin made an important save on a dangerous shot by Robustiano Modestio in the 57th minute. Celso Gonzalez recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 59th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Claudio Maidana showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Gavino Ubelteso in the 62nd minute of the match. Prudencio Veronica sent away a hard shot on goal in the 63rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Robustiano Azubeli kicked well hit freekick during the 65th minute of the match. Los Leales's Celso Gonzalez got a good chance for a goal in the 67th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Eugenio Bieito struck a weak shot in the 73rd minute. Filomeno Ospin didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for González. If Celso Gonzalez had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 78th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Prudencio Veronica fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 81st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Claudio Maidana having to interfere. Ariel Matxin charged in rather forcefully in the 86th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Ariel Matxin the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. In the 89th minute Celso Gonzalez shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Claudio Maidana saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Prudencio Veronica received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 94th minute. Claudio Maidana tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere.
