Manzanares's Augusto Rodriguez played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Anastasio Gregory in the 25th minute of play. Iker Cisco received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 27th minute. Francisco Iratze tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Rafael Bazil charged in rather forcefully in the 40th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Rafael Bazil the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. The referee blew the whistle for a penalty in the 39th minute of the game. One of Mercedes AFC:s players had nearly got his shirt torn off by an opponent while getting free in front of Manzanares:s goal. In the 41st minute there was a penalty for Manzanares. Francisco Iratze tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Iker Cisco's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Francisco Iratze read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 66th minute of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Anastasio Gregory in the 68th minute of play forced Manzanares's goalkeeper Augusto Rodriguez to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After some careless play in the Mercedes AFC defense, Primitivo Lizardi kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Francisco Iratze. The Mercedes AFC fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Francisco Iratze should have stopped the shot. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 93 minutes into the match, Mercedes AFC's goalkeeper Francisco Iratze had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Iker Cisco. When the match was over Manzanares could go home with a victory in their luggage, having controlled the game far better than Mercedes AFC throughout the match.
