The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. An unexpected shot in the 9th minute by Elpidio Waske got the crowd on their feet, but to their dismay it went out on the left side. Elpidio Waske received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 33rd minute. Sixto Romero tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Sportivo Talarense's Sixto Romero played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Leopoldo Calvino in the 37th minute of play. With a little luck, Sportivo Talarense's Sixto Romero got control of the ball when Elpidio Waske tried to sneak it across the goal line. When Agustin Baudelio fell near the penalty area in the 42nd minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Sportivo Talarense's protests and gave Agustin Baudelio a yellow card for diving instead. Esteve Maurin didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Sportivo Talarense. In the 87th minute the ball was on its way in behind Sportivo Talarense's goalkeeper Sixto Romero, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. After some fancy dribbling in the 94th minute, Elpidio Waske managed to get in a good position for a shot. Asturias's supporters rose to their feet, but Elpidio Waske was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Sixto Romero breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Leopoldo Calvino in the 97th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Sixto Romero saved Sportivo Talarense from getting behind. Asturias's supporters were delighted with their team's performance and swarmed onto the pitch at the end of the match to celebrate the victory with the players.
