After 2 played minutes Buchanan got a freekick which was hit by Urbano Ferdinand. After a defensive mix-up in Buchanan's zone, Lisandro Chano stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Rogelio Burni came out of the goal and Lisandro Chano tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Higinio Santio's late challenge caught a Franco Canadiense's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Higinio Santio helped the player get up and apologised. In a very dangerous position, a player in Buchanan fell when an opponent tried to get the ball from him in the 13th minute. Penalty! In the 15th minute there was a penalty for Franco Canadiense. Fermin Aballe stepped forward and shot the ball to the right of a diving Rogelio Burni. 1-0. After some fancy dribbling in the 21st minute, Victorio Gilabert managed to get in a good position for a shot. Buchanan's supporters rose to their feet, but Victorio Gilabert was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. James Rodriguez breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. After a defensive mix-up in Franco Canadiense's zone, Victorio Gilabert stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. James Rodriguez came out of the goal and Victorio Gilabert tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. If Carlos Ostargi had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 30th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Victorio Gilabert fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 32nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without James Rodriguez having to interfere. Buchanan's Rogelio Burni played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Lisandro Chano in the 34th minute of play. If Lisandro Chano had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 36th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 41st minute, Omar Aurken left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Buchanan fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 1-1. After a rather tough play, Buchanan's Higinio Santio got a free kick in the 47th minute. In the 48th match minute, Franco Canadiense was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Lisandro Chano to maneuver through the defense.

The wind increased when Omar Aurken made the kick off in the second half. When Franco Canadiense's Lisandro Chano, in the 52nd minute, received a pass right in front of the net, it looked like a certain goal, but his shot went outside. A wasted opportunity for Franco Canadiense. Buchanan's Rogelio Burni played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Lisandro Chano in the 54th minute of play. Franco Canadiense's Carlos Ostargi got a good chance for a goal in the 55th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. A collision led to Buchanan getting a freekick after 56 minutes play. Lucas Mark hit a great ball. Carlos Ostargi sent away a hard shot on goal in the 58th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Omar Aurken fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 62nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without James Rodriguez having to interfere. If Carlos Ostargi had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 65th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Rogelio Burni took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Lisandro Chano, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. When the match clock showed 76 minutes, the score became 2-1 when Carlos Ostargi sped through Buchanan's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Rogelio Burni. 80 minutes into the game, Victorio Gilabert was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Buchanan's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Franco Canadiense the free kick. In the 80th match minute, Buchanan was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Victorio Gilabert to maneuver through the defense. Carlos Ostargi received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 83rd minute. Rogelio Burni tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Buchanan's Rogelio Burni played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Carlos Ostargi in the 85th minute of play. Rogelio Burni came out of the goal in the 87th minute to try and stop a shot by Franco Canadiense's Lisandro Chano. But to his dismay, Lisandro Chano quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 3-1. Higinio Santio was shown his second yellow card after 91 minutes, following a rather ugly tackle on opponent. That was the end of his participation in the match. In the 93rd minute, Fermin Aballe sent off a long shot on goal, but the shot was nowhere near the goal and Buchanan's Rogelio Burni didn't even have to move. Rogelio Burni made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Carlos Ostargi in the 95th minute of play. It was no surprise that this one had ended in a win for the home team. Franco Canadiense had played much better football throughout.
