Bruno Favila took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 35th minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Tomás Claris. Palermo Futbol Club's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. Hersilia AFC's Honorato Soin played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Flavio Locaio in the 37th minute of play. In the 39th minute, Fernan Roldan hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Siro Bernat recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 40th minute. After the first half the score was level. The break gave the players a chance to catch their breath, whilst the managers went over the tactics with them again.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Flavio Locaio to make the kick off. The supporters of Hersilia AFC booed when Palermo Futbol Club was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 59 match minutes in a wonderful position. Felix Elia didn't get a good kick on the ball. An unexpectedly hard shot by Carmelo Maria in the 64th minute of play forced Palermo Futbol Club's goalkeeper Tomás Claris to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The audience thought a goal was coming when Siro Bernat got free with Honorato Soin in the 67th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. 70 minutes into the game, Fausto Lando was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Hersilia AFC's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Palermo Futbol Club the free kick. In the 70th match minute, Hersilia AFC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Fausto Lando to maneuver through the defense.
