An unexpectedly hard shot by Jorge Bento in the 8th minute of play forced Club Atletico River Plate's goalkeeper Albino Hug to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Guillermo Esquipula recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 10th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Lázaro Fix sent away a hard shot on goal in the 12th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After 22 minutes Esquel FC's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Ricardo Macias who took care of the corner kick. The corner led Club Atletico River Plate's Ricardo Macias to fire away a dangerous shot which Ezequiel Ibañez despite some difficulties managed to get hold on the ball. Albino Hug showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Valentin Munio in the 24th minute of the match. In the 25th minute, Jorge Maiorga hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 28th minute, Lázaro Fix got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. After having played for 33 minutes, Valentin Munio managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Esquel FC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Valentin Munio was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. In the 35th minute Ambrosio Quiroga shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Albino Hug saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Esquel FC were awarded a corner in the 37th minute after Club Atletico River Plate's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Emiliano Ixona took the corner. Esquel FC's Emiliano Ixona was first on the ball when the corner was shot and he dangerously headed the ball towards goal, but Albino Hug in the goal jumped up to prevent it from getting in. If Ambrosio Quiroga had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 39th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 42 minutes into the match, Club Atletico River Plate's goal looked a bit too open when Ambrosio Quiroga came free, but Albino Hug reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Esquel FC's Ezequiel Ibañez played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Alberto Cambranes in the 43rd minute of play. 44 minutes into the match, Esquel FC's Valentin Munio sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Albino Hug narrowly saved just below the crossbar. After some fancy dribbling in the 46th minute, Lázaro Fix managed to get in a good position for a shot. Club Atletico River Plate's supporters rose to their feet, but Lázaro Fix was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Ezequiel Ibañez breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Ambrosio Quiroga stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Jorge Maiorga's late challenge caught a Esquel FC's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card.
