The audience thought a goal was coming when Feliciano Ilixo got free with Eliseo Igon in the 17th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Adolfo Oriche stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Santiago García's shot from short distance in the 21st minute. In the 27th match minute, Riverpool was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Maximino Rozarius to maneuver through the defense. After 29 played minutes, Esperanza FC's Baldomero Firmo shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Eliseo Igon came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Esperanza FC reached it. Feliciano Ilixo could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 32nd minute of the match, but Eliseo Igon made a huge save. After 33 played minutes Riverpool got a freekick which was hit by Generoso Balesio. Eliseo Igon made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Alejo Cruz in the 34th minute of play. With his leg Eliseo Igon managed to avoid a goal in the 37thth minute, when Esperanza FC's Feliciano Ilixo fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. In the 42nd minute of the match Generoso Balesio shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Adolfo Oriche showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. With an all-out effort, Esperanza FC's Eliseo Igon threw himself towards the right post 44 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Alejo Cruz, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. Feliciano Ilixo could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 47th minute of the match, but Eliseo Igon made a huge save. The score stood at 0-0 when the half time whistle went. Both sets of players seemed reasonably pleased with how the match was going.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Santiago García made a kick off. The corner went over the outstretched arms of Riverpool's goalie and right to Feliberto Martinez. He fired away a shot at goal, but the shot had too much spin, and it went just outside the goal. Riverpool's manager breathed a sigh of relief on the sidelines as his team had managed to escape an almost certain goal. Esperanza FC were really happy, having secured the victory after a very even contest. They thanked the players of Riverpool for a fine match.
