The audience was convinced that Moises Ebardo's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Honorato Abar was relentless in the 12th minute of the game. If Dario Arotza had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 13th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After a defensive mix-up in Horqueta's zone, Dario Arotza stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Honorato Abar came out of the goal and Dario Arotza tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Honorato Abar showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Dario Arotza, who was totally free with the ball in the 19th minute. After having played for 23 minutes, Dario Arotza managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Gómez's supporters crossed their fingers, but Dario Arotza was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Francisco Asur hit a great freekick 25 minutes into the match. Julian Frasquito sent away a hard shot on goal in the 32nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. 37 minutes into the match, Gómez's Dario Arotza sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Honorato Abar narrowly saved just below the crossbar. If Moises Ebardo had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 39th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Honorato Abar took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Dario Arotza, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Aquiles Aguirre sent away a hard shot on goal in the 46th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 1-0.

The wind increased when Aquiles Aguirre made the kick off in the second half. Julian Frasquito hit a great freekick 51 minutes into the match. Gómez's Dario Arotza got a good chance for a goal in the 52nd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. With a little luck, Horqueta's Honorato Abar got control of the ball when Dario Arotza tried to sneak it across the goal line. Moises Ebardo blasted a shot towards the goal in the 56th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Honorato Abar having to make a save. Dario Arotza might have been able to make a better finish in the 58th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Honorato Abar. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Dario Arotza ran back to his position shaking his head. After some careless play in the Gómez defense, Julian Frasquito kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Ciriaco Cebo. The Gómez fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Ciriaco Cebo should have stopped the shot. Julian Frasquito sent away a hard shot on goal in the 68th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Julian Frasquito fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 70th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Ciriaco Cebo having to interfere. In the 72nd minute, Amado Cordarryl hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After having played for 74 minutes, Julian Frasquito managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. In the last second Honorato Abar throw himself and got hold of the ball when Moises Ebardo in the 78thth minute from his position got away a shot towards the right post. If Dario Arotza had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 80th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Francisco Asur was shown his second yellow card after 81 minutes, following a rather ugly tackle on opponent. That was the end of his participation in the match. Horqueta's Honorato Abar played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Moises Ebardo in the 83rd minute of play. Honorato Abar showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Moises Ebardo, who was totally free with the ball in the 85th minute. In the 86th minute the ball was on its way in behind Horqueta's goalkeeper Honorato Abar, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Moises Ebardo in the 88th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Honorato Abar saved Horqueta from getting behind. 91 minutes into the match, Horqueta's goalkeeper Honorato Abar had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Dario Arotza. Horqueta's Honorato Abar proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 92nd minute of the match, managed to save Horqueta from getting a goal against them.
