The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. After a defensive mix-up in Jockey Club RC's zone, Moises Hanni stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Gonzalo Bernat came out of the goal and Moises Hanni tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Moises Hanni in the 11th minute of play forced Jockey Club RC's goalkeeper Gonzalo Bernat to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Epifanio Belmiro showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Rogelio Nesor in the 14th minute of the match. If Rogelio Nesor had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 18th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Igor Iliana recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 20th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. The audience thought a goal was coming when Igor Iliana got free with Epifanio Belmiro in the 22nd minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Igor Iliana received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 24th minute. Epifanio Belmiro tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Igor Iliana struck a weak shot in the 27th minute. Epifanio Belmiro didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Jockey Club RC. In the 34th minute, Moises Hanni got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. An unexpectedly hard shot by Erubiel Franco in the 38th minute of play forced Jockey Club RC's goalkeeper Gonzalo Bernat to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Pedro Eguerdi fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 41st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Gonzalo Bernat having to interfere. Ruben Bazil charged in rather forcefully in the 43rd minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Pedro Eguerdi made a kick off. The Bluestones fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Epifanio Belmiro should have stopped the shot. Baldomero Cordarryl hit a great ball. Epifanio Belmiro showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Igor Iliana, who was totally free with the ball in the 75th minute. An unexpectedly hard shot by Rogelio Nesor in the 82nd minute of play forced Bluestones's goalkeeper Epifanio Belmiro to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The referee blew his whistle, and the match came to a close. The players exchanged shirts and headed down the tunnel. The Jockey Club RC fans cheered their team off the field, for while Bluestones had put up a good fight, they were unable to come out of the game with any points to show for their effort.
