The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Ovidio Christobal showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Jose Otsoko in the 4th minute of the match. In the 12th minute Jose Otsoko shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Ovidio Christobal saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The supporters of Racing Club Jujuy booed when La plaza was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 15 match minutes in a wonderful position. Enzo Roano didn't get a good kick on the ball. If Albano Celio had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 17th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Ovidio Christobal made an important save on a dangerous shot by Santos Chano in the 47th minute.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Albano Celio to make the kick off. 51 minutes into the match, La plaza's goal looked a bit too open when Aquilino Adrio came free, but Ovidio Christobal reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After 90 played minutes, Racing Club Jujuy's Ramiro Berdaitz shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Ovidio Christobal came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Racing Club Jujuy reached it. Ovidio Christobal showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Damian Odilon, who was totally free with the ball in the 91st minute. 93 minutes into the match, Santos Chano notched a goal, 9-0, to the right of La plaza's Ovidio Christobal. Ovidio Christobal was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it.
