Albano Celio's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Godofredo Atarrabi read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 13th minute of play. In the 18th minute of the match La plaza got a corner. ΡΣĹØŦẪŽΘ ẪĹ ИŲÈЏЭ's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Godofredo Atarrabi dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-2. Ovidio Christobal made a fantastic save in the 32nd minute, when Sixto Gonsalve sent off a good shot on target. If Albano Celio had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 33rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. ΡΣĹØŦẪŽΘ ẪĹ ИŲÈЏЭ's Godofredo Atarrabi played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Albano Celio in the 35th minute of play. 37 minutes into the match, La plaza's goal looked a bit too open when Roman Camerino came free, but Ovidio Christobal reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The audience thought a goal was coming when Sixto Gonsalve got free with Ovidio Christobal in the 38th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. If Albano Celio had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 40th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Godofredo Atarrabi showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Celedonio Natal in the 43rd minute of the match. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 0-3.

La plaza's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line.
