The ball went over the crossbar instead. An unexpectedly hard shot by Abel Senin in the 13th minute of play forced Luján FC's goalkeeper Israel Mateo to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Israel Mateo showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Abel Senin, who was totally free with the ball in the 14th minute. In the 16th minute Abel Senin shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Israel Mateo saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 18 minutes into the match, Barrio Facultad's goal looked a bit too open when Celestino Bartuelo came free, but Evaristo Quinteros reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Israel Mateo made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Tomás Gilen in the 19th minute of play. Celestino Bartuelo received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 24th minute. Evaristo Quinteros tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After a defensive mix-up in Barrio Facultad's zone, Saverio Rioja stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Evaristo Quinteros came out of the goal and Saverio Rioja tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. In the 30th minute, Abel Senin made a precise shot to the right of Israel Mateo. Luján FC's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 0-1. With a little luck, Barrio Facultad's Evaristo Quinteros got control of the ball when Saverio Rioja tried to sneak it across the goal line. In the 36th minute Abel Senin shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Israel Mateo saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The crowd rose to their feet as Celestino Bartuelo kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Evaristo Quinteros. That made the score 1-1 in the 39 minute of play. Saverio Rioja's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Evaristo Quinteros read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 44th minute of play. The first half was very even, with the score at 1-1 when the whistle went for half-time. The players welcomed the break and quickly retired to the dressing rooms.

53 minutes in the game, Tomás Gilen fired away an excellent shot, which passed to the side of the right post without Israel Mateo having to interfere. 64 minutes into the game, Victorino Illart cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 1-2. Israel Mateo was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Evaristo Quinteros made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Celestino Bartuelo in the 72nd minute of play. 72 minutes into the game, Leopoldo Felo was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Barrio Facultad's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Luján FC the free kick. After 72 played minutes Barrio Facultad got a freekick which was hit by Leopoldo Felo. Israel Mateo showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Abel Senin in the 75th minute of the match. In the 80th minute the ball was on its way in behind Barrio Facultad's goalkeeper Evaristo Quinteros, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. After 85 played minutes Luján FC got a freekick which was hit by Teobaldo Betadur. Teobaldo Betadur charged in rather forcefully in the 86th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Teobaldo Betadur the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. In the 86th match minute, Luján FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Teobaldo Betadur to maneuver through the defense. Celestino Bartuelo sent away a hard shot on goal in the 90th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. It was a very nice shot. 97 minutes into the match, Barrio Facultad's goal looked a bit too open when Saverio Rioja came free, but Evaristo Quinteros reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The away crowd were delighted with the way their team had played and cheered loudly when the final whistle sounded. Barrio Facultad walked away with the win, even though the match was close until the end.
