Conrado Cuarto made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 1-0. Mulcahy's defense didn't have a chance, in the 14th minute, when Domingos Fix scored to the left of an out of position Conrado Cuarto, making the score, 2-0. A collision led to Mulcahy getting a freekick after 24 minutes play. Jose Txomin hit a great ball. Domingos Fix sent away a hard shot on goal in the 27th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Perú's Moises Cordarrel played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Jonas Vito in the 30th minute of play. With a little luck, Mulcahy's Conrado Cuarto got control of the ball when Orlando Tabby tried to sneak it across the goal line. Conrado Cuarto stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Adolfo Xabel's shot from short distance in the 45th minute. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 4-0.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Everardo Eneas to make the kick off. 53 minutes into the game, Mauricio Polentzi was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Perú's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Mulcahy the free kick. If Mauricio Polentzi had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 55th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 60th minute, Casimiro Furtado hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. 62 minutes into the match, Everardo Eneas dribbled the ball past the defender and swiftly kicked the ball to the left of Moises Cordarrel, 4-1. After some careless play in the Perú defense, Jonas Vito kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Moises Cordarrel. The Perú fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Moises Cordarrel should have stopped the shot. Ruperto Bernard kicked well hit freekick during the 70th minute of the match. Conrado Cuarto showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Mauricio Polentzi, who was totally free with the ball in the 73rd minute. Conrado Cuarto came out of the goal in the 81st minute to try and stop a shot by Perú's Arnaldo Montae. But to his dismay, Arnaldo Montae quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 6-2. 89 minutes into the game, Adolfo Xabel was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Perú's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Mulcahy the free kick. A collision led to Perú getting a freekick after 89 minutes play. Adolfo Xabel hit a great ball. Adolfo Xabel received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 93rd minute. Conrado Cuarto tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Perú's Orlando Tabby got a good chance for a goal in the 94th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Perú walked away with a well-earned victory that was much celebrated by the crowd.
