The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Rogelio Orlanda during the 19th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. A collision led to Ipisca getting a freekick after 21 minutes play. Honorato Malvin hit a great ball. Conrado Iratze received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 43rd minute. Leopoldo Stephen tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Leopoldo Stephen showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Ciriaco Etxatxu, who was totally free with the ball in the 52nd minute. After some fancy dribbling in the 59th minute, Conrado Iratze managed to get in a good position for a shot. Ipisca's supporters rose to their feet, but Conrado Iratze was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Leopoldo Stephen breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. With a little luck, Ipisca's Matias Firman got control of the ball when Placido Vachon tried to sneak it across the goal line. If Conrado Iratze had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 74th minute. Leopoldo Stephen made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 1-1. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Santos Chumo in the 85th managed to get into a good position.
