Spectators: 6875 (Terracing: 5210, Seating: 1663, VIP seats: 2) Avellaneda's Silvio Cordarrell started the match with a crisp pass. The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Avellaneda's Fabian Eliasson proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 3rd minute of the match, managed to save Avellaneda from getting a goal against them. An unexpectedly hard shot by Silvio Cordarrell in the 6th minute of play forced Boca Juniors's goalkeeper Abel Peru to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 6th minute, Silvio Cordarrell ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Abel Peru was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-1. Avellaneda's Fabian Eliasson played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Gaudencio Pedroso in the 11th minute of play. Silvio Cordarrell fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 20th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Abel Peru having to interfere. The Avellaneda fans' excitement grew in the 22nd match minute when Avellaneda's Manuel Sabin looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 0-2 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. Silvio Cordarrell blasted a shot towards the goal in the 25th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Abel Peru having to make a save. Gualterio Santiago kicked well hit freekick during the 28th minute of the match. Silvio Cordarrell sent away a hard shot on goal in the 30th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After a defensive mix-up in Boca Juniors's zone, Manuel Sabin stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Abel Peru came out of the goal and Manuel Sabin tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Jacobo Telo took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 36th minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Abel Peru. Boca Juniors's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. 47 minutes into the game, Silvio Cordarrell cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 0-3. Abel Peru was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. After the first half Avellaneda were leading 0-3. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Gaudencio Pedroso was the one to do the kick off. Fabian Eliasson stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Gaudencio Pedroso's shot from short distance in the 61st minute. Manuel Sabin sent away a hard shot on goal in the 66th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Silvio Cordarrell received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 68th minute. Abel Peru tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Manuel Sabin who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 70thth minute tested the skills of Abel Peru when he managed to save the team from getting behind. In the 90th minute Silvio Cordarrell shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Abel Peru saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 94th minute, one of Boca Juniors:s players had the ball in front of the goal but got pushed and fell. The referee felt it was an obvious case and blew a penalty for Boca Juniors. When the match was over Avellaneda could go home with a victory in their luggage, having controlled the game far better than Boca Juniors throughout the match.
