Ignacio Vigil showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Gerardo Shepherd, who was totally free with the ball in the 23rd minute. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Jimeno Oalo in the 27th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Gaudencio Unai saved NewCastle from getting behind. NewCastle's Gaudencio Unai played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Denis Venceslas in the 28th minute of play. Denis Venceslas fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 37th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Gaudencio Unai having to interfere. Jimeno Oalo blasted a shot towards the goal in the 40th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Gaudencio Unai having to make a save. The audience was convinced that Denis Venceslas's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Gaudencio Unai was relentless in the 41st minute of the game. After 42 played minutes NewCastle got a freekick which was hit by Jeronimo Llorian. 1-1 became the score in the 43rd minute when Denis Venceslas elegantly shot the ball into goal just under the crossbar. The score stood at 1-1 when the half time whistle went. Both sets of players seemed reasonably pleased with how the match was going.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Denis Venceslas to strike the kick off in the second half. 51 minutes into the match, NewCastle's goal looked a bit too open when Denis Venceslas came free, but Gaudencio Unai reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Jimeno Pereyra during the 71st minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. In the 71st minute, Jimeno Pereyra hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Gaudencio Unai showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Jimeno Oalo, who was totally free with the ball in the 77th minute. 78 minutes into the match, Denis Venceslas had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Gaudencio Unai. NewCastle's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Denis Venceslas was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 3-1. When Jimeno Oalo came up free with the goalie in the 95th minute, the Melo fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Jimeno Oalo couldn't finish the play. There were very few away supporters still in the ground by the end of the match. Most of them had left early, disgusted by the way their team had been torn apart. Melo fully deserved thier win.
